If the Fijian players are banned for the upcoming
Rugby World Cup tickets by the President of National Olympic Committee then New Zealand might come under breach of Olympic. Vidya Lakhan also informed that he is completely against New Zealand Government plan for imposing travel bans against Fiji players with military links.
Lakhan also said that Rugby has been declared as Olympic sport. From 2016, Rugby Sevens will be the part of this glorious Olympics Sport and no political interference will be entertained, as it is subject to Olympic charter.
In the year 2006, after military led coup, travel sanctions has been imposed against members of Fiji military and their relatives. In order to boycott the World Cup, Lakhan has been previously called for Fiji. While addressing Fiji media, he clearly stated to IRB that Rugby as an Olympic sport should be away from political matters.
Lakhan stated, "We are a National Olympic Committee, we are affiliated to the International Olympic Committee and as president of FASANOC, I'm required to uphold the IOC constitution and FASANOC constitution which very clearly says we will resist all pressure of politicking, racial and religious nature in sport."
He further added, "So we cannot agree to political interference in sport whether it be from the Fiji government or ... from any government." He said that he urged IRB, "the Rugby World Cup belongs to them and they decide who will take part and who will not." He further added, "I strongly believe that no country can dictate to Fiji as to who they should select. It should be left to Fiji Rugby Union. They should be at liberty to select their best team to take to the games."
Lakhan also stated that if there is ban on any player having military links, then Fiji need to send a B Team to the Rugby World Cup. A 50-man squad has been finalized by Fiji for the preparation of international matches.

In previous three campaigns of Wales, Williams had played in the year 1999, 2003 and 2007. He said, "To get 100 caps would be the ultimate for me, but if I don't, I don't. I would have taken one cap. I look at it as the glass being half-full. I've had a great career, and if I manage to get two more caps, then happy days."
He further added, "I think Warren has been spot on in what he has said. He doesn't want to dish out the caps, he wants me to earn them, and I totally agree with him. When you are 35 and you have played the amount of rugby I have, you are not going to be as sharp as what you used to be, but I've been happy all season. My form has been pretty good."
Gavin Henson is another player who is working hard to be the part of Rugby World Cup campaign. He said, "To be fair he hasn't played a lot. It's not the Gavin of old, I think that's clear to see, but it doesn't mean he can't get back there. He has played limited rugby and it showed in some cases, but he is a quality player and he has a bit of time in his favour, but that's for someone else to worry about now."
